Mt Baker - Maple Pecan

Mt. Baker's Maple Pecan is a sweet and nutty e-liquid that tastes like pecan pie filling. I received a bottle in an  Euicepack a while back and have been letting it steep. According to Mt Baker's product description, Maple Pecan is a blend of "delicately crunchy and delightfully buttery pecans" combined with "deliciously sweet maple."

Stu Spivack
Pecan pie filling is made with corn syrup and pecans. Other ingredients, such as brown sugar, molasses, maple syrup or honey, may be added. Mt Baker decided to go with maple syrup in this tasty liquid.

Mt Baker's Maple Pecan is sweet, very sweet.  I have been vaping it on and off for the last two weeks or so. Every time I try some, the sweetness is the first thing that comes to mind. I find it too sweet to vape all day. It works better as an occasional treat, at least for me.

Maple Pecan is not lacking in flavor.  Keep in mind, Mt Baker's e-liquids are not pre-steeped and require steeping time in order for the full flavor to come forth.  I let this one steep for several months.  It is now very flavorful and satisfying.

Mt Baker's Maple Pecan produces plenty of vapor.  The maple syrup is the dominant flavor, with the pecan flavoring coming across as a rich, earthy and nutty undertone. Properly steeped, Mt Baker's Maple Pecan is a great dessert vape.  It is rich, sweet and full of flavor.

Mt Baker - Moo Juice

Moo Juice - Mt BakerMoo Juice is one of Mt Baker's most popular e-liquids.  Mt. Baker describes Moo Juice as "A decadent blend of Strawberries and Cream."  I finally had an opportunity to sit down and enjoy a tank full of Moo Juice. I have to tell you, it was really good.  It tastes like a fresh strawberry milkshake made with organic milk.

I have read a lot of hit and miss reviews about Moo Juice and other Mt Baker products.  I believe the underlying issue is steeping.  Mt Baker makes juice "on-demand."  Whenever you order this type of product, it requires steeping, as it is "fresh" and needs time for the flavoring to blend in with the PG and/or VG.  The bottle I sampled was just right.

Moo juice is smooth and creamy, as well as sweet and tart. The key to having a good vaping experience is letting your Moo Juice steep.  Should you try it straight out of the mail, you may find it to be perfumy. I've heard, but do not know for a fact, that if you let it steep too long, it tastes like curdled milk. If you read other reviews, you will find that many people love it, and an equal amount hate it.  The bottle I sampled was good. All I can say is that if you get a good bottle and let it steep, it is quite a tasty flavor.

Mount Baker - Green Apple

I received a free 15 ml bottle of Mt Baker's Green Apple e-liquid with another juice in the past. Mt Baker is pretty liberal when it comes to handing out samples.  I have to give them that. I am not big on apple flavor e-liquid as most of the apple flavors I have vaped are muted or very subtle. I put this one away for awhile and let it steep.  Now, I find myself vaping it everyday.

Green Apple tastes just like a green apple.  It is a crisp clean vape that is both sweet and sour at the same time. Green apples are commonly known as Granny Smith apples.  They start out looking yellow and turn green as they mature. Although they can be eaten raw, Granny Smith apples are usually used to make apple pie.

On the inhale, I get green apple flavor right from the get go.  One thing I have to tell you, in a CE4 clearo or a Protank 2, the flavor is a bit mild.  In a dripper, wow, the flavor really comes forth.  That is the way with most liquids. In this case however, I wouldn't even bother vaping this juice in anything other than a dripper.  The difference is vast.  In a dripper, it is like biting into a nice juicy ripe green apple.  In anything else, picking up the flavor is a bit of a challenge.

Mount Baker - Candy Cane Coffee

What a nice surprise, a 236 ml bottle of Mount Baker's Candy Cane Coffee e-juice.  This came my way via an on-line contest.  Entering was easy, all I had to do was reply to a post with the name of my favorite flavor. I replied, went my way and completely forgot about the contest as I never suspected I'd win. Hundreds of people entered after all. I was very surprised when I received a message from Mt Baker requesting my mailing address.

I soon found a heavy box in my vapemail box.  It turned out to be this huge bottle of e-juice along with a 15 ml sample bottle of Green Apple.  I know Mt Baker is very generous and throws a sample in with every order that exceeds $15, but I did not realize that they provide samples when you win juice as well. Nice.

Much to my surprise, this juice is good straight out of the vapemail box. It did not require any steeping. It tastes like black coffee seasoned with peppermint. It's a good thing that I like this combination as I may be vaping it until next Christmas!

At first Candy Cane Coffee tasted like a peppermint vape.  The coffee flavoring was very subtle.  I found the more I vaped it, the more the coffee flavoring came out with the peppermint becoming less dominant.  Being that I enjoy coffee vapes, and love drinking peppermint flavor coffee beverages, Mt Baker's Candy Cane e-juice works for me. Depending on your tastes, it may work for you as well.

Mt Baker - Hawk Sauce

Hawk Sauce is one of Mt Baker's signature flavors. The discription on their website reads, "Hawk Sauce. A slightly Sour Berry, hint of menthol and Fruit Mix with Inspirations Drawn from the Pacific North West."

Mt Baker Hawk Sauce e-liquid
I didn't even bother trying this out in a CE4 clearomizer first as I have found that the few Mt Baker juices I have tried in the past don't taste very good in plastic.  I put this juice in a Kanger Pro Tank 2 and screwed it onto a Vamo 2. The first draw seemed a little perfumey.  I started increasing the wattage and although the perfume taste quickly dissipated, all I got was a slight watermelon flavor. I don't think watermelon is one of the flavor ingredients, but that is what it reminds me of - a flavorless watermelon rind. I pick up a very subtle hint of mint, but like the elusive sour berry and mixed fruit flavors, it is almost non-existent except as a pleasant after taste. Overall, the word "flat" comes to mind.  I regret filling the tank up with this juice as now I have to dump it out as I have more interesting and flavorful juices to vape.

On the plus side, Hawk Sauce does produce a lot of vapor.  Don't expect much in the way of a throat hit however.

I put this aside awhile and decided to give it another try. I now find that the more I vape it, the more prominent the mint flavoring becomes.  I may even detect a very subtle hint of berry flavoring, though I am not sure.  I have to admit, it is growing on me. It's as though it is suddenly coming alive.  I am glad I held off on dumping it out.

After vaping Hawk Sauce for several days, I've found that the flavor has really come alive and I have grown to like it.  The mint is still the predominent flavor, but the sour berry and fruity flavorings are now adequately detectable. It is both tart and very sweet at the same time. There are at lease 29 edible berries that grow in the Pacific Northwest. Which do they use?  You tell me.

Mt Baker - Bourbon

Bourbon is a type of whiskey that is recognized as "a distinctive product of the United States."  Although bourbon may be produced in any of the fifty states, most bourbons are produced in Kentucky where iron-free water that has been filtered through high concentrations of limestone, unique to the area, help give it its signature flavor.

charred white oak barrels for bourbon
By Bbadgett
Bourbon is made from corn mixed with other grains.  The more corn, the sweeter the whiskey. The U.S, government has actually set standards for Bourbon Whiskey.  In order to be called "Straight Bourbon" a whiskey must be produced in the United States, made of at least 51% corn, distilled at less than 160 proof, aged in new, charred white oak barrels for a minimum of two years and cannot contain any additives.

The main ingredients in bourbon are distilled grain and water. The grain is a mixture of corn and other grains such as rye, barley and malt.  Which grains, other than corn, are used depends on the manufacturer.

As they say, all bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. Congress declared bourbon America;s Native Spirit in 1964 under President Lyndon B. Johnson. By law, a whiskey can't say "bourbon" on the label unless it was made in the United States.

Mt Baker's Bourbon e-juice is as sweet as bourbon should be.  This bottle has been steeping for quite some time as I forgot about it.  My first reaction after vaping some straight up was "Whoo!  This stuff is strong!"  Just like a good old Kentucky Bourbon straight on the rocks!

This particular blend is very sweet and tastes like alcohol with subtle hints of vanilla and caramel (I think).  Or maybe I detect hints of charred white oak?  I don't know, I don't really know what charred white oak tastes like.

This is not an all day vape.  It's a bold flavor that might be best used with a mixer.  You know, homemade cocktails. You can vape it straight up if you like. I think I need to buy a Coca-Cola e-juice to go with it.

Mt Baker - Oregano

Don't ask me what possessed me to order straight oregano flavored e-juice.  I have no idea, but I did.  Maybe I was craving pizza at the time and thinking about the taste of fresh oregano sprinkled on top.  In any case, I have a bottle of Mt Baker Oregano on hand.

This morning I added a bit to some "Marlboro" flavor liquid that I could no longer taste.  It turned out to be quite good.  I couldn't taste anything that reminded me of Marlboro cigarettes, including ultra lights, but I could taste "fresh oregano sprinkled on top."  At some point my device clogged up and I dumped the liquid out and cleaned my clearomizer.

I didn't think that flavorless "Marlboro" juice topped with oregano should be the Flavor of the Day, so I refilled with straight Oregano, let it soak the wick awhile, and gave it a try.  Hmmmm.  It was a lot different.  It tasted perfumy and less like oregano than when mixed with the flavorless "Marlboro" type liquid.  It did produce more vapor however.  The taste reminded me of some type of Italian liquer that's name escapes me.

I put this aside awhile and drank some water.  It no longer seems so perfumy and is starting to taste like oregano again.  It is best if you let the vapor linger in your mouth a bit.  If you simply inhale and exhale you don't taste the flavor so much. The taste on my lips is much different than in my mouth.  This is interesting stuff and I am not exactly sure what I think about it.

Although this is kind of ok on its own,  I think it will be best mixed with other liquidsI'm really not sure as everytime I take a puff, I seem to have a different impression.

Mt Baker - Blu-bacco

I love blueberries.  I can eat them straight off the bush.  I like them on ice cream.  I like them in smoothies.  I love blueberry pie.  Blueberries rock!

blueberryI ordered some Blu-bacco e-juice from Mt Baker.  I got a drop on my lips.  It sure did taste like blueberry.  It's more subtle when you vape it.  A little sweet, but not too much.  Blu-bacco is a good name for this liquid as it does taste like blueberry flavored tobacco.  It's a real delight.  Very smooth.  This is fresh juice.  It hasn't had time to steep yet.  All Mt Baker e-juice is mixed fresh and they suggest you let it steep.  The bottle is back in my cabinet.  I just had to give it a try.  I imagine in a week or two it will even better.  Maybe not so subtle - though I kind of like the subtle flavor. This is one of the best "tobacco" blends I have come across.  I am sure it will be ordering more in the future.

One week later, the blueberry is getting sweeter and stronger.  I am not really tasting tobacco flavor at all. I was vaping Johnson Creek's Black Cherry all day, and that has a definite tobacco flavor.  Comparing this to that, the tobacco flavor isn't really there.  We will check in again in another week. But hey, don't get me wrong, this is still good, especially after dinner!

Over a month later - with steeping, this juice gets sweeter and sweeter.

Mt. Baker - Green Tea

Just back from the mailbox.  Weekend orders have arrived!  Ten clearomizers, a spare battery and fresh e-juice!!!!!  While browsing around on various forums, discussion boards and websites, I noticed that someone said Mt Baker juice is the least expensive on the market.  I had never heard of them so I started doing some research.  Spinfuel eMagazine has quite an extensive review of Mt Baker and their products.  In Part I they write, "Our motivating factor to review Mt Baker, beyond the suggestion, was the sheer number of ejuice flavors and the price point.  How can you sell a 30ml bottle of e-liquid for $7.49 when all those around you sell 30ml bottles for $13.99-$19.99?"  Excellent question!

I went straight to the Mt Baker site to see if these prices were for real.  What I found was a nice looking site from which you can order start-up kits, parts, accessories and yes, inexpensive e-juice.  After clicking on "Nicotine Juice" I arrived at the first of many pages of flavors, all presented with enticing little pictures.  But wait, more enticing than the pictures were the prices.  Just about everything said either $7.49 or $7.99 and, get this, those prices were struck out and replaced with either $4.99 or $5.99.  Wow, where is my credit card????

These prices were just too low to pass by.  The $4.99 or $5.99 is for 15 ml.  If you want 30 ml it is only an additional $2.50.  You can get 50 ml for an additional $6 or 236 ml for an extra $35.  Of course, at these prices I wanted to order everything but I refrained.  After all, who knows if its any good?

Ok, so I refrained.  I ordered three bottles of 30 ml liquids.  Why settle for 15 ml when you can get twice as much for only $2.50???  Right?

Oh yeah,  I found out, reading reviews on the site, that if you order $15 or more, you get a free sample bottle of juice.  So that brings me back to our topic - The Flavor of the Day.  I filled one of my brand new clearomizers with Mt Baker's Green Tea e-liquid.  The sample flavor is their choice and I was pleased to see that they sent me Green Tea e-juice.

While I have been typing this up with one finger, I have been slowly twirling my vaporizer around giving the wick ample time to absorb the liquid with my other hand.  I have been dying to try it.  Here we go...

Ummmm, lots of vapor!  It seems like I can exhale vapor forever.  And it's tasty!  Its nice and light.  This is turning out to be quite a pleasant experience.

Mt Baker suggests that you steep their liquid before use as it is mixed fresh when you order it.  This is only going to get better with time and I am already pleased.

Checking the product reviews on their site, Green Tea e-liquid is a two star product.  I am surprised as I like this e-liquid.  (The other e-juices I purchased are all four and five star, so they must really be good).  It seems most of the reviews are from people who received it as a free sample and several have never had green tea, several say it does taste like green tea, and a few complain that it clogged their atomizer.

Well, it tastes good to me.  I am enjoying all the vapor.  My atomizer seems ok so far...
