Johnson Creek - Makana

Johnson Creek's Makana is the latest addition to their Original Smoke Juice line. Makana is described as a fruit punch that is a blend of fruit flavors that will "transport you to a sunny Hawaiian beach on clouds of vapor."

Johnson Creek has a reputation for making high quality smoke juice.  As with all of their juices, Makana produces a ton of vapor. As far as flavor goes however, I am finding this to be a very light and subtle.  Honestly, I am having a hard time picking up on the flavor profile.  Nothing is standing out.  I have a fresh charged battery, a brand smacking new coil, and have confirmed that I am not suffering from vapor's tongue. So, hmmmm, very odd as I have never had this type of experience with any Johnson Creek smoke juice before.

After vaping the entire bottle, over the course of several days, at various voltages, I find the flavoring consistently eludes me.  Every now and then I get a small hint of fruit punch, kind of like Hawaiian Punch, but it is a rare and short-lived experience. Makana is a A Spinfuel Choice Award Winner and gets a lot of five star reviews on Johnson Creek's site, so I don't know what is going on here.  I am enjoying all of the vapor however!

Island has a distinctive tropical taste that is apparent upon the very first draw. There is no mistaking the Pina Colada flavoring. Pina Colada is a sweet, rum-based cocktail made with rum, cream of coconut and pineapple juice. There's no mistaking any of these flavors on the inhale, with the caramel laced tobacco flavoring kicking in just before you begin to exhale.

Although Island is laced with caramel tobacco flavoring, it should still appeal to those of you who do not particularly like tobacco vapes. The tobacco and rum flavorings are light and subtle with the pineapple and coconut being much bolder and more prominent.

I would not call this an all day vape, but then I am not big on fruit flavored juices. I do like tobacco juices however, and find this is a tasty tropical fruit flavored tobacco treat. Anyone who likes tobacco and Pina Coladas will more than likely enjoy this bold tropical fruit flavored juice. As for everyone else, well it's a matter of taste, but there is a good chance you will enjoy vaping this juice.

Johnson Creek - Tennessee Cured

 

Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured is one of my all time favorite smoke juices.  I just cracked open a new bottle and it is as good as ever.  Johnson Creek describes this product as "The slightly less sweet cousin of JC Original" and goes on to say "this rich and smoky tobacco flavor will charm you from the first puff with hints of burnt caramel and vanilla that combine with a smooth, mesquite vapor."


I've always enjoyed Tennessee Cured for those very reasons - "rich and smoky tobacco flavor ...hints of burnt caramel and vanilla..."  Yes, that is exactly why I fell for this particular juice years ago and continue to keep a bottle on hand at all times.

Tennessee Cured tastes more like a pipe tobacco than it does a cigarette.  It has a subtle sweetness with the caramel and vanilla kicking in as you exhale.  I go through a tank of Tennessee Cured faster than I do any other juice in my collection.  It's hard to put down.

Johnson Creek - Black Cherry

Johnson Creek's Black Cherry is one of their smoke juices that I discovered in a sample pack and came to love.  I always have a 15ml-30ml of this juice around.  It is smooth and very tasty.  Delicious!!!  I am not big on fruit flavor juices, but this one is certainly an exception.  At the moment, it is my everyday vape.

Johnson Creek describes their Black Cherry smoke juice as "Full of flavor. A rich nutty tobacco provides the base and then is enhanced with natural black cherry flavor. Not overly sweet and no artificial chemical cherry taste."  That is a perfect discription. 

Vapor production and throat hit are both decent with this juice.  I am satisfied with both.  The juice is mildly sweet and neither the tobacco or the black cherry is too strong.  It's close to a perfect blend.

What I love is that when I inhale, it takes so long to exhale....   I also like it because it tastes like tobacco with a hint of cherry.  Having smoked cigarettes in the past, I seem to prefer tobacco based juices for everyday use and non-tobacco based juices for a treat.

I found an old bottle of Johnson Creek Expresso smoke juice in my wine cabinet.  It is a 30 ml bottle and several years old.  If we have a 30 ml bottle of anything, that means it is a flavor we like.  At one time we started with a ten bottle sample pack of Johnson Creek smoke juice.  Expresso was one of the sample flavors.  This 30 ml bottle is evidence that we liked it.


Johnson Creek describes "Expresso" as " rich tobacco flavors wrapped around natural coffee beans and rounded off with creamy natural vanilla."  Even though this bottle is quite old and most people would say its "expired" and we should throw it out, we decided to load some up in and vape it.

After all these years, it still tastes good.  I would like to compare it with a fresh batch, but don't have one.  In any case, its still smooth and enjoyable.  It does have a coffee/vanilla taste.  The liquid is rich and dark.  It is possible that it may damage the clearomizer, but I have been vaping it for three days now and have refilled the clearomizer four times and so far, nothing bad has happened. It produces a good deal of vapor and  tastes great, at least until the battery is ready for a charge. Coffee, vanilla and tobacco - a great combination.

The Original Johnson Creek Sample Tin

One of my best investments in the early days of vaping was the original Johnson Creek Sample Tin.  The tin contained ten  bottles of smoke juice in  3.7 ml brown glass dropper style bottles.  I still have them all, as well as the tin, and use them for carrying small amounts of e-liquid around with me.

The sample flavors were:  J.C. Original, Black Cherry, French Vanilla, Chocolate Truffle, Arctic Menthol, Tennessee Cured, Expresso, Mint Chocolate, Summer Peach and Simply Strawberry.  I found I was especially fond of Tennessee Cured.  I also liked Black Cherry  and J.C. Original.  Actually, I liked them all but those were my favorite.

All Johnson Creek juice is 100% American made.  They produce a quality product and have high quality control standards.  It is said that Johnson Creek smoke juice is the standard that all e-liquid manufacturer's aspire to. 

Johnson Creek now offers 5ml sample bottles of their smoke juice which can be purchased in a five bottle package which includes a tin.  Unlike the original sample tin, you get to choose the sample flavors.
