Barb's Brew - Joey's Custard

Joey wanted a custard so Barb brewed one up for him.  That's how it works with Barb's Brew.  Someone wants something, Barb makes it. She now has an entire line of juice that is not only popular, but delicious.

Joey's Custard is one of the bolder custards I have tried. There is no mistaking the flavor here.  Joey's Custard is a vanilla custard that can be vaped straight or mixed with your favorite fruit, or other flavor, e-liquid.  In the grand scheme of things, Joey's custard is not a sweet custard but is definitely what I expect a good vanilla custard to taste like.  It produces plenty of rich and flavorful vapor, what more can you ask for?

Custard is a mixture of milk or cream and egg yolk. The amount of egg used in the recipe determines how thick or thin it turns out. Other ingredients, such as sugar and vanilla, are usually added to the mix if the custard is going to be used as a dessert. Most custard based e-liquids are made with vanilla and a sweetening agent in addition to the custard base.

No two vanilla custards are alike.  Some are sweeter than others, while some taste more "eggy" while others favor the vanilla flavoring. Joey's Custard is fairly well balanced.  Both the egg and vanilla flavoring are present in equal proportion.  It is sweet, but not very sweet. Joey's Custard is the type of custard that one could easily vape all day.  That said, I prefer to rotate it with other flavors as the first inhale is always the best.

Barb's Brew - Frack-A-Cow

Frack-A-Cow????  Barb's Brew's Frack-A-Cow is a delightful strawberry cupcake flavor e-liquid. The name "Frack-A-Cow" comes from a video recorded for a fundraiser featuring Zero, one of the hosts on FreakShow inc on Vaper.tv, who lost a bet and had to make a video of himself singing in the woods.  The video is titled "What Does the Fox Say?" and features Zero dancing and singing in the woods while "dressed up as a fox" (that is stretching it a bit). At the 3:52 minute mark, Zero starts singing "frack-a-cow, frack-a-cow." Barb, who is also a host on FreaskShow, named her strawberry cupcake flavor in honor of Zero and his "frack-a-cow" ad lib.

Like I said earlier, Frack-A-Cow is a delightful strawberry cupcake flavor e-liquid. It is sweet, and tastes like a strawberry cupcake. The strawberry cake flavoring is spot on and there is no doubt that this e-liquid is supposed to make you feel like you are vaping a rich, moist cupcake. Anyone who enjoys strawberry cake or cupcakes will be pleased with this juice. Although it is not a bold flavor, it is not subtle or mild either.  It is somewhere smack in the middle, making it quite a tasty treat.

Whenever Barb decides to get creative and brew up a new juice it's usually because someone asked her to make something special for them. In the case of Hawaiian CuppyCake, Barb's sister asked her for a Hawaiian Punch flavor e-liquid. Her sister had been smoking for ten or twelve years.  She was trying to make the transition from cigarettes to vaping, so Barb was glad to comply.

When Barb gave me a bottle of Hawaiian CuppyCake, I did not know the story behind it.  I opened the bottle expecting coconut and pineapple.  Wrong! It turns out that most people who have not tried Hawaiian Cuppy Cake, or read the product description, think the same thing.

Hawaiian CuppyCake tastes like a cupcake made with red Hawaiian Punch.  Remember that stuff?

Hawaiian Punch is composed of seven fruit flavors: apple, apricot, guava, orange, papaya, passion fruit and pineapple. I am not sure if every single one of these fruity flavors is in this brew, but I can tell you, Hawaiian CuppyCake tastes just like red Hawaiian Punch. And it has that cake sensation as well.

I was looking forward to trying another brew from Barb. Her Cherry Water e-liquid really knocked my socks off. I got lucky and won a bottle of Barb's Brew from Vapor Curt on FreakShow Inc's Last Call. I wanted to try Barb's Rage Quit, but I had a brain fart and ordered Eager Beaver.  After submitting the form I realized my mistake.  I decided it really didn't matter as I intend to try her entire line-up in due time.

My bottle of Eager Beaver e-juice arrived in no time. I could not wait and let it steep.  I opened the bottle and gave it a sniff.  It smelled sweet like fresh picked fruit. I loaded the tank and started to vape.  I was happy to discover that Barb's e-juice does not need to steep.

Eager Beaver delivers huge clouds of sweet creamy goodness. It turns out to be a sweet RY4 blend with a special twist. For those of you that don't know, RY4 is a tobacco blend made with caramel and vanilla. This is not your usual RY4 however. I am picking up lots of fruit flavoring. Strawberry and blueberry come to mind. Make that fresh picked strawberries and blueberries.  It is not candy sweet, but naturally sweet as though Barb soaked the tobacco in fresh squeezed fruit juice.

Although I detect the tobacco and subtle hints of caramel and vanilla, it's the fresh berry sensation that makes this e-liquid special.  I feel as though I am vaping fresh berries covered with whipped cream. This is another e-juice that makes me want to open the bottle and drink it. And oh by the way, I am glad I made a mistake when I ordered. If you are interested in trying a fruity RY4 e-liquid, this is the one to try.

Barb's Brew - Cherry Water

I had an opportunity to vape some of Barb's Brew's Cherry Water e-liquid before it was a product that you can buy on-line. From what I have been told, Barb has been brewing up juice for years for her own personal enjoyment and pleasure.  She would share her concoctions with her friends and well, I guess they finally convinced her that she should be selling it as it's that good.

Barb comes across as a very humble individual. Mention Cherry Water and she will tell you about some other juice that she thinks is better.  In the meantime, several of Barb's flavors are now available for sale via BA Vapor's website. Although all of them are said to be quite good, Cherry Water is a big hit.  Word of mouth advertisement is working in Cherry Water's favor as it seems to have developed something of a cult following.

Cherry Water is a pinkish color e-liquid.  It does not get its coloring from food coloring, but rather from real cherries. Barb uses naturally extracted cherry flavoring in this juice.  This, I believe, is why it's such a hit as it's a real taste sensation. Not overly sweet, Cherry water is best described by Barb herself as "The offspring of a cherry that kissed a watermelon."

Some people compare Cherry Water to Slurpees, Slushies and other convenience store beverages that are basically flavored ice. I don't know.  To me, Cherry Water is a "juice snob" e-liquid, as it's a quality product that seems to appeal to the most finicky vapors I know.  It's a refreshing, light and pleasant floral vape that is very aromatic.  It smells phenomenal when you open the bottle.
