News: The Vaping Underground is Coming, a Forum For Everyone...Now!

Here we go, a new vaping forum is being developed - Vaping Underground. Just what we need, right? Another discussion forum. There are already more than a few out there, what makes this one special? Well, it seems that some of the largest and most popular forums may be full of good information, but they charge vendors to participate, they censor posts and they just have way too many rules that make participation a frustrating experience.

Without naming names, I joined one and found that I was only allowed to post in the "beginners" area.  I had to post X amount of times before being allowed to post elsewhere. I found that several other forums seem to copy this one forum, including the rules.  Another forum doesn't even allow you to view posts unless you are registered and signed in. Once you are allowed to post to all areas of these forums, you have to be very careful about what you say.  It is very easy to unintentionally post something unacceptable.  It seems like the only acceptable posts are positive posts about the site's advertisers.  Anything negative is a violation, as is anything positive about a company that is not a paid advertiser. Who needs that?

I've seen a few people get mad, go off and start their own discussion forum.  I try to support them, but in reality, it can take years of hard work and devotion to get a forum going.  You have to be able to draw people in and engage them to keep them coming back.  This is easy for an established forum, but very difficult for a new forum.

So, what makes The Vaping Underground different?  First, it will be free. Vendors will not have to pay a fee to participate. Discussion will be open and uncensored.  Well, I am sure there will be some censorship, they do have to keep the Viagra ads out, but it will be uncensored as far as posting your opinion about a vaping product or vaping experience goes. If you try a new juice and it's awesome, you can post about it without checking to see if the vendor is an approved vendor first.

Second, this forum is likely to take off as it is the brainchild of Joe Petner (Vapor Joe).  Joe and his team have put a lot of thought into it and are taking their time and planning to do it right. Joe spoke about it on Mod Envy.  He discussed his reason for doing this and what viewers should expect.  He basically said that discussion boards should be free and fun. The Vaping Underground team have a mailing list.  You can sign up to get updates about the site.  Joe and his team have done an excellent job publicizing this list and there are already thousands of people signed up.  This means the site should take off rather fast as there is already a large audience waiting to start posting and discussing all things vaping.
