Strix Elixirs - Butter Shot

In the past, we have reviewed two e-liquids from Strix Elixirs: Frozen Tundra and Black Honey Cream. Both were very flavorful and delicious.  When a bottle of Strix Elixir's Butter Shot arrived in last month's Zamplebox, we were excited and could not wait to try it.

All of Strix Elixir's e-liquids come "pre-steeped."  They are supposed to be ready to vape as soon as you purchase a bottle.  Even though they do not require steeping, our bottle of Butter Shot was allowed to steep a few weeks as we have a lot of e-liquid to review.

One of my cohorts tried Butter Shot before I had a chance.  She wrote, "Just loaded up a tank with butter shots. Good, but awfully light on the flavor!"  About a week later, she wrote again saying, "Bleh, that butter shots started tasting like sweet cardboard after one small tank."

With those thoughts in mind, I decided to start out dripping Butter Shots rather than vaping it in a tank.  I spilled a little on my finger.  When I licked it off, it tasted like a fine, creamy butterscotch flavor. I had high hopes for it based upon this experience. Well....

I can hardly taste the butterscotch flavoring.  It is very mild and hardly get it at all.  I tried raising the wattage, still nothing in the way of flavor. I then tried it in my Kanger Protank2 on a Vamo.  The same thing. I found an old CE4 clearomizer that has never been used.  I thought I'd give that a shot.  I get plenty of vapor, but still nothing in the way of flavor. I don't even get "sweet cardboard." I've tried it with an eGo Twist, an MVP, a Vamo 2 and a Chi You clone.  I've tried everything I am capable of.  It's a disappointment as far as flavor goes. I'm hoping it's just a bad bottle, or should I say, two bad bottles?

I'll put it away and let it steep some more.  If it turns out to have flavor at some future date, I will update this review.

Strix Elixirs - Frozen Tundra

Strix Elixirs Frozen Tundra e-liquid hits you with a powerfully cool and refreshing minty menthol blast. Frozen Tundra is a premium pre-steeped e-juice made with menthol and mint. I can taste peppermint and spearmint. There may be some wintergreen as well, I am not sure.

According to Strix Elixirs, Frozen Tundra is "The first in our line of menthol liquids, we’ve combined several mints with menthol to create a rush of cooling flavor. This eJuice is very powerful, but if you love mint and menthol you will LOVE this blend."

I have to agree, if you love mint and menthol, you will love Frozen Tundra. This is one very powerful e-liquid.  It is slightly sweet and very cool and refreshing. Frozen Tundra seems to be more mint than menthol, but the menthol is not lacking. This is one e-liquid that will wake you up and clear your sinuses. Frozen Tundra is crisp, clean, cool and refreshing, need I say more?

Although some people may be able to vape Frozen Tundra all day long, I am not one of them.  For me, this is an excellent flavor to switch to when my taste buds need to be revived or my breath needs refreshing.  It does a great job.  In addition, it produces tons of crisp, cool vapor. I'm not a menthol vaper, but I enjoy vaping Frozen Tundra as the menthol is balanced out with mint flavorings. It's a very good juice, if mint and menthol are your thing. Try some.

Strix Elixirs - Black Honey Cream

Strix Elixir's Black Honey Cream e-liquid is a delicious blackberry, honey and ice cream blend.  Like all of Strix Elixir's flavors, Black Honey Cream is a pre-steeped e-liquid that is ready to vape as soon as you remove the lid from the bottle.

The tart natural blackberry flavoring is combined with the sweetness of honey to tingle your tastebuds.  The ice cream flavoring ensures a smooth and creamy vaping experience.  Black Honey Cream is a very tasty dessert vape that you can easily vape all day. It is neither too sweet nor too tart. It tastes exactly like you would expect a blackberry flavor ice cream to taste.

I love ice cream, so this is really a special treat.  It's like taking a bowl of premium vanilla ice cream and topping it with ripe blackberries and a dash of honey, letting it soften a bit, and then stirring it up so the that the blackberries and honey become part of the ice cream. It tastes wonderful.  It is rich, creamy, smooth, fruity and "just right" sweet.

Black Honey Cream is the first flavor I have tried from Strix Elixirs.  If this is any indication of what their e-liquids taste like, then I am surely looking forward to trying more.
