The iTaste CLK is an advanced personal vaporizer with both variable voltage capabilities and pass-through charging capabilities. The CLK comes in three colors: QuickSilver, Onyx and Pixie (Silver, Black, Pink). Each is paired with a color coordinated iClear 16D.
The CLK has the same look and feel as an eGo Twist or Vision Spinner. It is an unregulated variable voltage device designed to output between 3.5 volts and 5.0 volts. Being that it is unregulated, vapor production is reduced as the amount of charge on the 800 mAh battery is reduced. A built in battery level indicator allows the user to keep tabs on the amount of charge: green = fully charged; yellow = half power; and red = low power.
As one would expect in a high end battery, the CLK has short circuit protection and over-discharge protection built in. What helps the CLK stand apart from the crowd is its pass-through charging capability. You can plug it into a usb power source and continue to vape while it is charging. This is a nice feature for people who either don't want, or can't afford, a backup battery.
The CLK was designed to go with an iClear 16D clearomizer, but can be used with just about any clearomizer or tank with 510 threading. The 16D is a dual coil, bottom coil clearomizer. Although the 16D looks good on the CLK and performs well, it is not a pyrex tank, so you are somewhat limited in regard to what types of juice you can use and leave in the tank.
The CLK comes in a nice protective case containing everything you need to get started: one iTaste CLK battery, one iClear 16D 2.1 ohm clearomizer, one beauty ring, one eGo style lanyard, and one pass-through cable. Although the 16D comes with a 2.1 ohm coil, the CLK can handle resistance down to 1.1 ohms and the coil can easily be replaced.
Innokin included a booklet in the package that gives detailed instructions on how to use the CLK for those who are new to all of this. In addition, the back of the package lists all of the technical specifications. It's a nice looking package and very well thought out.
If you are looking for a solid and reliable starter kit, or need a variable voltage eGo style battery for when you are on the go, the CLK is a good choice. At the time of this review, the entire kit is selling for about fifty dollars, while the battery alone is about thirty dollars. The 16D is going for about six dollars. As you can see, the CLK is a quality product that is competitively priced.
I've been using my CLK for a month or two now. I find it is very dependable and is a rock solid device. It is easy to use and seems to hold a charge longer than my Twist or eGo batteries. My only wish is that it came with a pyrex tank as juice tastes better in pyrex and you don't have to worry if it will crack the tank or not.
