Have you ever had a slice of angel food cake smothered in strawberries?

At this point, I've vaped a lot of juice and have tried just about every type of flavor out there, so I was happy when Maddcatt Vapor came up with a new flavor based on a flavoring I had never tried before. Maddcatt Vapor's Celestial Bodies is an angel food cake and strawberry vanilla flavor that will just knock your socks off.

Angel food cake is a type of sponge cake that is very light and airy and said to be the "food of angels." Rather than icing, angel food cake is usually covered with a sweet fruit sauce or a glaze. Maddcatt Vapors decided to pair their angel food cake up with a "vanilla strawberry icing" blend of flavor. The combination of angel food cake and vanilla strawberry icing  really works and makes for an absolutely delicious vape.

Celestial Bodies produces loads of tasty vapor.  It is a somewhat delicate flavor however, as it is voltage sensitive and does  better on a variable voltage device that allows you to find the sweet spot. I find I get lots of flavor between four and seven watts on a Vamo with a 1.8 ohm coil. .  I also tried it on a mechanical mod with a 1.0 ohm coil in a dripper.  I got plenty of clouds, but the flavor was lost.

At the right settings, Celestial Bodies in neither a subtle flavor nor a bold flavor, it's somewhere in the middle of these two extremes. While it is a sweet flavor, it is not too sweet. The cake flavoring is very light and airy, like an angel cake flavor should be.  The strawberry vanilla icing is what gives this liquid most of its flavor.

It seems everyone is talking about Maddcatt Vapor's Ripe Strawberry e-liquid these days. It started on vaper.tv, almost any host who has tried Maddcatt's Ripe Strawberry e-juice raves about it. Watching the chat on the side of the screen proves that viewers who have tried it love it just as much. I can't tell you how many hosts, on how many shows, I heard rave about this e-liquid.

I decided to look at customer reviews on Maddcatt Vapor's website. The first one I read said, "Get this. Right now. Click on the button, put as many mL in your cart as your bank account will allow. There's only one way to describe this flavor - just like biting into a fresh ripe strawberry."

They love it on Mod Envy.  Vapor Joe says he bought a 200 ml bottle.  And then there's Phil Busardo,  He gave Maddcatt's Ripe Strawberry a huge shout out. When Phil Busardo speaks, vapors listen.

Since everyone in the vaping universe seems to be talking about Maddcatt's Ripe Strawberry, I had to try it myself.  Keep in mind, I don't really like strawberries.  As soon as my bottle arrived (which was fast), I tried a little.  I have to say, it's pretty good right out of the bottle and smells delicious.  After vaping a small amount, I put it away and let it steep about two weeks.

Ripe Strawberry tastes exactly like its name.  This e-liquid tastes exactly like a fresh, ripe strawberry right off the plant. I can understand why everyone is raving about it.  How Madcatt Vapors managed to capture that "ripe" taste is beyond me, but they did. This is one very impressive single flavor e-liquid. If you like strawberries, you have to try Maddcatt's Ripe Strawberry.  It doesn't get any better than this.

Maddcatt Vapor's Purple Raven e-liquid is a grape Absinthe blend that reminds me of a purple lollipop with a hint of anise.

Anise is a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region and southwest Asia. Its flavor is similar to other spices such as star anise, fennel and liquorice.

Absinthe is a distilled alcoholic beverage in which anise is one of the ingredients. It is isually made with botanticals such as wormwood, green anise, sweet fennel and other medicinal and culinary herbs. Absinthe is classified as a spirit as it does not contain added sugars as is the case with liqueurs.

Maddcatt Vapor's Purple Raven is a grape flavored e-liquid blended with many of the same flavorings used to make Absinthe. The grape flavoring is the dominant flavor with subtle hints of anise adding a "licorice" touch.  This is not a candy sweet type of licorice however.  It is a mildly sweet herbal licorice coupled with fennel.  If you are looking for a grape flavored black jelly bean, you may be disappointed.  This is a more natural and milder type of licorice experience.

I'm loving Purple Raven.  I haven't stopped vaping it since I opened the bottle. It's like vaping a purple lollipop without all of the sugar and instead, subtle hints of absinthe.  I am beginning to think of it as a grape lollipop for adults.

Licorice flavoring is extracted from the roots of the licorice plant, which is a legume native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. Licorice is not to be confused with anise, star anise or fennel, which are similar in flavor, but are not botanically related. The licorice grown in North America is called black licorice and has a sweet taste that is 30 to 50 times sweeter than sugar.

The black licorice candy that most everyone is familiar with is made with black licorice extract.Red licorice candy, however, does not contain licorice flavoring. It is made with strawberry, cherry, raspberry or cinnamon flavorings instead.

Maddcatt Vapors combines black licorice and red strawberry flavorings together in their Red Fairy e-liquid. This is a very tasty combination that is very smooth and flavorful. The black licorice is the dominant flavor with the strawberry adding a pleasant twist. Together, the strawberry and black licorice flavorings blend together making this a very tasty offering.

Licorice fanatics are sure to fall in love with this e-juice.  Please remember, this is a black licorice based juice. It is not an Absinthe, or anise, flavored liquid.  This e-liquid is naturally sweeter than an anise based juice and was created for those of you have a taste for black licorice candy like licorice sticks and black jelly beans. Out of all the e-liquids in the universe, I never dreamed I'd be vaping Peanut Butter & Jelly.  Although I've seen a lot of peanut butter e-juice (and peanut butter cup e-juices) on the market, the first time I ever saw Peanut Butter and Jelly was after I won a bottle of Maddcatt  e-juice from Vapor Curt on FreakShow TV. I went to Maddcatt's site and browsed the menu.  Looking for something new and unique, "PB&J - Your school lunch favorite" caught my eye.  Ah, PB&J!!!  That has to be Peanut Butter & Jelly, right? I ordered it.

I impatiently let my PB&J steep about a week and then I could not stand it anymore.  I broke it open and filled a tank. But before I tell you how it tastes, let me tell you a little story.

Peanut butter was considered a delicacy in the early 1900s.  It was only served in New York City's finest tearooms along with cheese, celery, watercress, pimento, nasturtium or on toasted crackers. In 1896, Good Housekeeping magazine published a peanut butter sandwhich recipe which instructed  homemakers to spread peanut butter on bread. In 1901, the first known reference of peanut butter paired with jelly appeared in an article by Julia Davis Chandler in the Boston Cooking-School Magazine of Culinary Science and Domestic Economics. By the late 1920s, the peanut butter and jelly sandwhich was popular with adults and children in all economic classes.

Back to Maddcatt's PB&J.  As you inhale, the first thing you taste is peanut butter.  There is no mistaking it. As the vapor penetrates your taste buds, the jelly flavoring comes to life.  Maddcatt chose to go with tradition and uses grape flavoring for the jelly component.  As for the sandwhich, there isn't any bread flavoring, and there's not supposed to be.  This is straight up peanut butter and jelly e-liquid and it is quite good.

Maddcatt Vapors - Horchata

Horchata is a traditional Spanish beverage made from ground almonds, sesame seeds, barley, rice or tigernuts. In Spain, horchata is usually made with tigernuts, water and sugar, while in Latin America, horchata recipes vary by country. Some use water as a base and others use milk.  In Mexico horchata is made with rice, vanilla and cinnamon. In Honduras and El Salvador it is made from morro seeds, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, tigernuts and vanilla. Some variations include peanuts, almonds and cashews as well. In Nicaragua horchata is usually made with cold milk, sugar, jicaro seeds, rice and spices. In Puerto Rico it is made with ground sesame seeds, water, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon sticks, as well as with rice, ground almonds, coconut milk, allspice and rum on occasion. In Venezuela, horchata is made with sesame seeds, water and sugar.  They also have an alcoholic version which is made with fermented corn flour. The horchata served in Latin restaurants in the United States is usually made from rice.

I won a bottle of Maddcatt Vapor's e-juice from CJStar while listening to FreakShowInc on Vaughn TV. I was instructed to go to Maddcatt's website and choose a flavor. OMG!  What a long list to choose from.  I decided I wanted something different.  I wanted something unique to vape as well as to review. There were several juices that fell into this category. I thought about it awhile and settled upon Horchata as I like the beverage.

Maddcatt's Horchata tastes like the real thing, meaning the type of horchata commonly served in the U.S. Not lacking in flavor, Horchata is sweet, creamy and rather complex. It has just the right amount of cinnamon and could pass for a rice pudding sprinkled with cinnamon on top.  It seems to be a creamy blend of rice, cinnamon and vanilla, all in the proper proportions. There may be subtle hints of additional spices as well, as it's rather warm and spicy, as well as cool and creamy.

I just realized, I haven't let this liquid steep.  It seems to be perfect right out of the bottle. This is one juice that I think will always be part of my personal e-juice collection.  If you like horchata or rice pudding with cinnamon on top, you might want to try a bottle of this juice.  It is delicious.
